PREVIEW: Wolverines finish trip with game against Pistons

Two teams that scored seven goals on Friday night will face off on Saturday night in La Broquerie, as the Waywayseecappo Wolverines take on the Steinbach Pistons.

Both teams are coming off routs on Friday, as the Pistons beat the Winnipeg Freeze 7-3, and the Wolverines beat the Selkirk Steelers 7-4.

The two teams are on the opposite side of the standings though, as Steinbach has won eight straight games, and leads the league in points with 31. The Wolverines just got their sixth win of the season, and is still four points back of Virden for the final playoff spot in the West Division (with three games in hand).

The two teams played last week, with the Pistons winning 3-1. The game was tied heading into the final period, before Steinbach  scored twice.

The Wolverines were able to fix their scoring troubles on Friday, after scoring just four goals in four games before erupting for seven against Selkirk, but they will be going up against the team that has given up the least amount of goals this season, with just 36.

This will also be the last time the Wolverines will have to play in La Broquerie, as the next time they will play the Pistons, it will be in the new arena that they will start playing in in 2025.
