PREVIEW: Wolverines face Freeze before week-long break

In the middle of a Playoff race, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines will be off for a week, but first they have to take on the Winnipeg Freeze.

With a three point lead in the West Division playoff race, the Wolverines only have four games left before the end of the season. The last three games will be in the last week, so the Wolverines will take on the Freeze before having the weekend off.

Even though they did have an impressive weekend before, beating the Portage Terriers, the Wolverines did lose to Winkler, which left the Oil Capitals in control of their own destiny as of this moment.

Virden will resume their season tonight after having nearly a week off themselves. They have six games left, and will start up tonight against the Niverville Nighthawks. If the Oil Caps win the rest of their six games, they will get into the playoffs. But a loss will open the door for the Wolverines again.

The Wolverines take on a Winnipeg Freeze team that beat them in January 6-5, in a shootout. Although the teams have played pretty eventful games in years past, the games are usually chaotic in Winnipeg. In Waywayseecappo, the Wolverines are perfect against the Freeze since they entered the league.

The Freeze are coming into the game on a 13 game losing streak, giving up at least five goals in the last five games.
