PREGAME: Wolverines looking for offence against Oil Capitals

After a tough start to the year, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines are heading to Virden for their first road trip of the season.

The Wolverines will face the Oil Capitals to start a six game season series.

The two teams left the weekend a combined 0-3 on the season, after the Wolverines lost 6-0 to the Niverville Nighthawks. The Oil Capitals lost back to back games to the Dauphin Kings, losing 3-0 and 4-2.

Both teams were the only ones to be shutout over the opening weekend, and with a combined two goals coming into tonight’s contest, a better offensive performance will be on each team’s minds on Tuesday night.

For the Oil Capitals, they weren’t able to get many past Cole Sheffield, with them putting up 42 shots in Game #2 of the weekend, and only scoring the two goals.

For the Wolverines, they weren’t able to put up much pressure against the Nighthawks, only making Raiden Legall have to make a few bigger stops, and putting 26 shots on net.

The Wolverines have added forward Griffin Ayotte to the team ahead of Tuesday’s game. He finished the season last year with the OCN Blizzard. He will be suiting up in Virden.

This will be the Wolverines last road game until October 4th. They will have two home games sandwiched in the middle before then.
