Pistons grind out win over Wolverines

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines lost a low-scoring game on Thursday night to the Steinbach Pistons by a score of 2-1.

The Wolverines were trailing heading into the third period, but couldn’t muster up many shots, only getting five shots in the period, as the Pistons shut them down.

Ty Paisley scored the first goal of the game, 10:57 into the perido, his 31st of the year, to make it 1-0 early on.

Caden Carlson tied the game in the second period, on a powerplay, with just under six minuted left to go in the period, to tie it up at 1.

But the Pistons got themselves back in front, when  Travis Hensrud went along the boards and beat Tresor Wotton to give the Pistons the lead. A lead they never relinquished.

The Pistons finished the game with 32-21 shot lead.

The Wolverines were the only one team with a powerplay goal in the game.

The two teams play again on Saturday at 7:30pm in Steinbach.
