Millionaires shut out Wolverines

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines finished the Canadian portion of their preseason schedule with a 4-0 loss to the Melville Millionaires.

Noah Sinagowitz and Kael Svenson combined for a shutout, with a combined 22 saves on the night.

The Millionaires got out to a strong start with three goals in the opening frame. Two goals were scored just 1:16 apart halfway through the first when Carter Wingert scored on a 2-on-1, and then Jackson Lee scored.

Late inĀ  the period, Wingert scored his second of the game when Jase Wareham’s poke check went off his own player and into the net.

In the second period, Boston Harkness scored the only goal of the period when a shot deflected high in the air and Wareham lost track of the puck. Harkness was able to bat it in.

The game went without a goal on either side after the Wolverines put in Haden Heide for the second half of the game.

The Millionaires outshot the Wolverines 34-22 in the game, and both teams went without a goal on the powerplay, as Melville was 0/2 and the Wolverines were 0/3
