Miller excited to be close to home

Waywayseecappo Wolverines’ new auto protect pick, Nathan Miller, is excited to have been picked by a “hometown team”.

Miller, from Russell, Manitoba, was one of the Wolverines two auto-protects back on Tuesday in the lead up to the MJHL Draft on Sunday morning.

He played last season with the Parkland Rangers of the Manitoba Under-18 Hockey League, putting up seven points in 44 games.

Miller describes himself as a “A smooth skating defencemen with good vision and a team first mentality.”

Nathan says his experience at the Wolverines Spring Camp back in April showed what kind of dressing room the team had, saying it felt like a tight group and that he wanted to be part of it.

“I’ve worked out with some of the players on the team in the past, and I’ve gone to a few games as well as a fan,” said Miller.

“They have really sold to me that playing in Wayway is a great place to play.”

Miller appreciates the closeness to home as well, and hopes to be suiting up for the team in the near future.

“My mom is excited about me playing close to home, my dad is just super proud,” said Miller.
