For the third straight game, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines allowed a late goal and would drop a 1-0 decision to the Dauphin Kings on Saturday night.
After two scoreless periods, it was Brayden Smelski who scored on the rebound after Wolverines netminder Isaac LaBelle made the first save on a breakaway.
Despite getting a late power play and pulling LaBelle for the extra attacker, the Wolverines effort fell short as Dauphin shutout the Wolverines 1-0 to move to 9-5-0. With the loss, Waywayseecappo drops to 7-6-1.
There was certainly no shortage of chances for the Wolverines, as the team went 0 for 7 on the power play Saturday night. Combined with Friday night against Dauphin, the Wolverines are now 0 for 16 with the man-advantage.
Isaac LaBelle stopped 24 of 25 shots in the loss, while the Wolverines penalty kill was perfect, going 5 for 5.
Up next for the Wolverines is a date with the Neepawa Natives on Wednesday, October 24th at 7:30 in Neepawa.
