Jackson Roth signs with Wolverines

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are excited to announce that defencemen Jackson Roth has signed a letter of intent for the 2022-23 season.

The Edmonton product has played his last two seasons with the Maple Leaf Athletic Club Under-18 AAA team in the Alberta Elite Hockey League U18 AAA. He was the captain for his team last season, and had 10 points in 31 games.

Roth says he is an offensive defencemen that makes a good first pass and likes to join the rush and create scoring chances.

“I am also strong in my d-zone with good body position,” says Roth.  “I am able to be relied on at any time during the game.”

Roth was able to experience a Wolverines game first hand during the 2022 playoffs, and says it was the highlight of his trip.

“Being able to see the team and atmosphere of the place was a lot different in person and way more fun than just watching online.”

Jackson has all the qualities that it takes to become a successful Wolverine,” says Wolverines Head Coach Taylor Harnett. “He’s a very smart player, and takes a lot of pride in defending his own zone. We are confident that he will become a successful piece to our roster next season.”

Jackson said he chose to sign with the Wolverines because of what he has seen with the growth in past players.

“They treat their players as if they are professionals and I can’t wait to be a part of that culture.”
