Hunter named to Western All-Star Challenge

Waywayseecappo Wolverines forward Cole Hunter has been named to Team MJHL at the Western All-Star Challenge in Martensville, Saskatchewan.

The Western All-Star Challenge will serve as a highly competitive pre-selection camp for Team Canada West.

Forty of the top 19U prospects from the MJHL and SJHL (20 players from each league) will compete in on-ice sessions and game play during the event in front of Team Canada West staff and scouts from all higher levels of hockey (NCAA, Major Junior, U Sports, NHL, etc.).

The event will provide players from the MJHL and SJHL an amazing opportunity to showcase themselves in front of many scouts while trying to earn a roster spot on Team Canada West for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge being held in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec (December 7-13).

Hunter has impressed this season with three goals and 11 assists in 16 games in his second season with the Wolverines.

The 17-year-old committed to Northern Michigan University in the offseason.

The event starts on November 3rd and ends on November 5th, with games on the 4th and 5th.
