Grier leads Wolverines to win over Pistons

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines handed the Steinbach Pistons their second loss of the season, with a 4-1 win.

Tresor Wotton stopped 34 shots for the win, and Nolan Grier scored two goals in his first game as a Wolverine.

The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead, when Grier scored on the powerplay with a wrist shot from the slot, assisted by Andrew Boucher and Caden Carlson.

A few minutes later, Cole Carlson made it 2-0 when a bouncing puck made its way through.

In the second period, Steinbach made it a one goal game when Travis Hensrud picked up a rebound and put it five hole through Wotton.

In the third period, early on with the man advantage, Aiden Ziprick was able to beat Dominik Wasik to make it 3-1.

Then Guerin Apperley had a point shot, that was tipped in by Grier to make it 4-1, and finish up the scoring in the game.

The Wolveirnes scored three powerplay goals in the game, and killed 5 penalties, including a 5-on-3 in the second period.

The Wolverines will now head to Neepawa to take on the Titans on Sunday at 6:30pm, before taking a week off.
