For the first time, the Waywayseecappo Wolverines will take on the Winnipeg Freeze.
Even though the Freeze are in their second season in the MJHL, the never played Waywayseecappo last season in the shortened season.
The two teams are on the opposite sides of the standings though, with the Wolverines 2nd in the West Division with 30 points, the Freeze are last in the East with 10 points.
Although Winnipeg was the only one to get a win during the MJHL showcase, beating OCN on Tuesday. The Wolverines had to take on the Blues and Pistons and lost by one goal in each game.
Waywayseecappo will try to keep up with the Dauphin Kings who are slowly extending their lead in the division. The Wolverines are six points back at the moment.
For Winnipeg, they are currently 10 points back of a playoff spot in the East.
Waywayseecappo leads the league in goal scoring with 96 goals for. Winnipeg is the league’s worst in scoring with only 51 goals. On the other side, the Freeze have given up 107 goals in 21 games, which is the worst in the league.
Even though the matchup might be lopsided, the Freeze have managed to surprise a top team this year, beating the Steinbach Pistons 5-4 in October.
