Five Wolverines named to MJHL/SJHL Showcase

Five members of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines were named to the MJHL rosters, for the MJHL/SJHL Showcase that will take place in Winnipeg on January 31st and February 1st.

A total of six teams will compete in the showcase event, with three teams from both the MJHL and SJHL. All teams have been selected by the showcase coaching staff of their respective leagues forming one 18U roster, and two 20U rosters.

The five players from Waywayseecappo that will be competing will be on Team Black Under-20, and Team Red Under-20.

Defencemen Lucas Eagle, Goaltender Tresor Wotton and forward Carson Baptiste will be competing for Team Black.

Meanwhile, forward Andrew Boucher and forward Boone Mathison will be on Team Red.

The event provides high performance exposure in front of NHL, WHL, NCAA and USPORTS scouts. The 2023 edition of the joint showcase is the first in Manitoba and first since 2020 in Regina, after both the 2021 and 2022 showcases were canceled due to the global pandemic.

Tickets will become available for purchase online starting on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Walk up tickets will also be available for purchase starting at 11:00AM on January 31, 2023 at Seven Oaks Sportsplex in Winnipeg.
