Eagle heads to York University

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines are excited to announce that defencemen Lucas Eagle has committed to York University for the 2023-24 season.

Eagle was named the Wolverines defenceman of the year for the 2022-23 season in his final season with the team. Over his two seasons with the Wolverines, he picked up 33 points in 97 games.

The Edmonton, Alberta native was a fan favourite with the Wolverines, and said it was the best junior hockey experience he could’ve asked for.

“I had the opportunity to meet great people and make life long friends,” said Eagle. “I learned many lessons about life and humility from my coaches which I am truly grateful for. It’s a great community and if I could do it all over again I would.”

Eagle will be pursuing a Business and society degree at York, and said it was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.

“Getting the chance to play very competitive hockey while pursuing a degree is a privilege,” said Eagle. “I’m excited to get out there to meet my new family, explore Toronto and play hockey.”

The Wolverines would like to congratulate Lucas on this great accomplishment, and thank them for everything they have done for the organization.
