Defensive Pair Added to Wolverines Prospect Pool In Trade With Selkirk

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines acquired a pair of prospects late on Saturday night.  Both young d-men, Waywayseecappo received 02′ Defenseman Ethan McColm and 01′ Defenseman Jack Stewart from the Selkirk Steelers in exchange for 20-year-old Defenseman Brady Pupp.

According to Wolverines Director of Scouting Troy Hickman, both McColm and Stewart could make a great impact on the Wolverines blue line in the near future.

“Currently playing for the AAA Eastman Selects Provincial team, Ethan brings a 6-foot-3 frame to the Wolverines blue line. He is an excellent skater who likes to jump into the play when he gets the chance to,” Hickman explained.

In ten games this season with Eastman, McColm has scored 1 goal and 3 assists.

“Jack mans the blue line for the Winnipeg Thrashers along with Wolverines prospects Chad Smithson and Nick Sharpe,” Hickman said. “Jack’s a good skating defenseman who has good vision and reads the ice well.”

Also playing in ten games this season with the Thrashers, Stewart has added a pair of assists.
