Bercier named MBLL Player of the Month for February

The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have named goaltender Mariko Bercier the team’s Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Player of the Month for the month of February.

The rookie puck stopper put together his best stretch of hockey for the Wolverines when it mattered most as the club holds onto the final playoff spot in the MGEU West Division.

Bercier averaged 34 shots against per-game in February and won four of those contests stopping 30 plus shots including a 32 save shutout against Virden. The Pas, Manitoba product had six wins in the entire month.

He is currently second in the league with a .927 save percentage.

Bercier has a 11-10-1 record, and 2.67 goals against average this season.

He was also named the MJHL’s Top goaltender for the month of February.
